Hope to see everyone soon,
Today we had the awesometastic Que Pastas serenade us with some of their zany songs for our very last program for the 2014 Summer! We all danced around like zombies and wiggled as fast as we could along to the music!
We even heard a song about sunglasses which had to be sung with sunglasses on! I think he might night some bigger glasses don’t you?
There were TONS of prizes to be handed out at the end and man were the Que Pastas enthusiastic about handing them out! The winner were SO excited!
See the dancing happening here!!! Everyone had a great time! Now we just have to wait and see what fun and exciting things will happen next summer! I can’t wait!!!!
Hi everyone! *waves excitedly* I’m Miss Kansas (just like the state), the new Youth Services Librarian at TCPL and I am SO excited to be a part of your library! Here are some fun facts about me: I have two dogs (Mollie Frog and Pepper Anne) and a cat (Tinker the Stinker). My favorite movie ever is the Wizard of Oz and my favorite book is Pete the Cat! I LOVE Pete the Cat!
This week has been my very first week here and I’ve already been a part of some really awesome stuff! This week we had Fired Up About Reading with one of the super fun firemen from The Colony Fire Department and we read all kinds of silly stories and one of my personal favorites Dragons Love Tacos! We also had Whirled on a String on Wednesday with Valerie Oliver and she showed us all some super cool yo-yo tricks and taught us some of the science behind it!
Next week is our very last week of Summer Reading Club so make sure you come in and join us for all of our final events for this year! I cannot wait to meet everyone and I just know we are going to have a great time!
I can’t believe summer is almost over! Summer Reading Club went great this summer and lots of kids read lots of fantastic books! Let’s celebrate!
Join us for an End of Summer Story Time on Friday, August 1 at 10:15 a.m. in the Story Corner. Miss Julie and Miss Linda have a special puppet show and story time to help us celebrate!
The End of Summer 1st-5th Grade Party will be held on Saturday, August 2 from 2-4 p.m. in the Library Multipurpose Room. We’ll have lots of fun come-and-go crafts and science experiments to enjoy as we celebrate the end of Summer Reading Club.
See you there!
We had our first Wednesday 1-5 Activity today at 2pm. It was absolutely magical! Brett Roberts as Dr. Flake-N-Stein, a mad scientist, showed kids some fun and easy science they can do at home. He also dazzled the crowd with a few magic tricks and song some songs with his robot buddies.
Check out the schedule to see what other programs we have this summer. And don’t forget to sign up for the reading club to get prizes and a reading certificate.
Miss Tina and I had SOOOOO much fun with everyone this afternoon during our Early Dismissal Movie program. Kids from as little as 4 on up to some brave 6th grades joined in on the fun after school let out for the summer. We watched Frozen!
First we made snowflakes. (I know it’s hot outside, but the movie does take place during the summer!).
Next, we started the movie and blew bubbles when anyone mentioned a snowman.
We waved around our snowflakes for “Let it Go”.
And threw ‘snow balls’ (Styrofoam balls) at the bad guys.
Oh yeah, there was popcorn. Lots of popcorn. 🙂
Check out all the other fun stuff we have going on this summer here. And don’t forget to sign up for the reading program here.
Hope to see you soon!
